Description (English)

An original interwar sports trophy — a vintage Art Deco award platter (plate), manufactured in Sweden in 1929. This item possesses a distinct historical charm and would make an excellent addition to a sports antiquities collection or a refined interior decor piece.

The center of the platter features an elegant Swedish engraving: “3 je Pris á Skidor 30 km 19 24/2 29” (3rd prize in a 30 km ski race, February 24, 1929).

Specifications and Hallmarks:

·        Diameter: 18 cm

·        Country of Origin: Sweden

·        Manufacturer: The renowned Stockholm silverware and jewelry manufacturer G.A.B. (Guldsmedsaktiebolaget), operating since 1867. A clear factory hallmark is stamped on the rim.

·        Material: Nickel silver (Alpacca) with thick, high-quality silver plating. The base bears official Swedish technical hallmarks: NS (Nysilver — silver-plated) and ALP (Alpacca — base metal).

·        Design: Sleek rim decorated with a relief pattern of crossed ribbons, characteristic of the late Art Deco era.

Good collectible/vintage condition for an item that is nearly 100 years old. The geometry is perfect, with no dents or deep damage. It features a fine, noble age patina and a natural light mesh of superficial handling scratches (traces of gentle use and historical cleanings), which only confirms the authenticity and venerable age of the piece
