Collectible silk fabric wall calendar "Riga 1981". RARE find in original factory packaging! LUXE condition.
· An original Soviet souvenir calendar for the year 1981, manufactured by the famous Latvian textile enterprise "Rīgas audums".
· This is a classic example of Latvian applied art and industrial design from the early 1980s.
· Souvenir wall calendar for 1981 featuring a panoramic view of Old Riga.
· Manufacturer: Silk production association "Rīgas audums" (Latvian SSR). The name of the enterprise is woven/printed on the ribbon at the bottom of the composition.
· Design & Layout: Calendar grids for all 12 months (in Latvian) are located in the upper and central parts.
· The bottom part features a graphic panoramic illustration of Old Riga with its recognizable tower silhouettes (Riga Cathedral, St. Peter's Church, etc.).
· The composition is framed with an elegant floral and botanical ornament in the Baroque/Art Nouveau style, mimicking an antique engraving.
· Language: Latvian (days of the week: P, O, T, C, P, S, S). Weekends and holidays are highlighted in a contrasting red color.
· Size: 72 $times$ 32 cm.
· Material & Quality: The item is made of artificial silk (acetate or viscose silk), which was the signature trademark of the "Rīgas audums" factory.
· It features roller printing (screen printing) in deep brown (chocolate) and bright red colors on a rich golden-yellow background. The fabric has a characteristic elegant sheen.
