Vatican commemorative circulation coin from the pontificate of Pope John Paul II. This 1987 issue is dedicated to the International Marian Year (1987–1988).

Vatican 200 Lire 1987 (Pontificate Anno IX) — Marian Year, XF/AU

·  Denomination: 200 Lire (L. 200)

·   Year of issue: 1987 (indicated on the obverse in Roman numerals as MCMLXXXVII)

·    Year of pontificate: IX (indicated as AN. IX)

·     Material: Bronzital

·     Mint: Rome (mintmark "R" on the reverse)

·     Designer: Angelo Canevari

·     Specifications: diameter 24 mm, weight 5 g

·      Strike type: Originally issued for a collector set (brilliant uncirculated quality / Uncirculated)

Condition: Extremely Fine / About Uncirculated (XF/AU). Wear, deep nicks, severe scratches, or deformations are absent. The high-relief details (the Pope's hair, folds of the Virgin's robes, tree foliage) are excellently preserved.
