Rare Vintage Set of 3 "Turtle" Boxes — Cloisonné Enamel, China, 20th Century (1970s–1990s, PRC)
An exquisite vintage set of three decorative boxes in the shape of turtles of various sizes. The pieces are crafted using the traditional Chinese technique of cloisonné enamel on a metal base.
Symbolism: The shell of each turtle features the traditional "Shou" character (longevity), surrounded by an ornament of bats ("Fu" — happiness and prosperity). In Eastern philosophy, the turtle is a symbol of wisdom, protection, and long life.
Construction: The upper part of the shell is fully removable. The interiors are coated with bright turquoise enamel. Perfect for storing jewelry, rings, or small keepsakes.
Set Includes: All three figurines come complete with original carved wooden bases, custom-fitted to the shape of their paws.
