Description (English)

This commemorative medal is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of football in the USSR. The obverse depicts two stylized figures of football players vying for the ball. At the bottom is the inscription "75 Years," framed by a laurel wreath. Year of issue: 1972. This date is associated with the anniversary of the first officially recorded football match in Russia, which took place in October 1897 in St. Petersburg.
