Description (English)

Up for auction is a collectible souvenir miniature panorama book "BERLIN — CAPITAL OF THE GDR" in Russian. This edition is a unique artifact of the "Ostalgie" era and an excellent piece for connoisseurs of microphily (miniature books) or the history of the Socialist Bloc countries.

  • Country of Origin: GDR (German Democratic Republic).
  • Publisher/Printing House: Released by the famous printing house Offizin Andersen Nexö, Leipzig.
  • Year of Publication: 1977.
  • Language: Russian.
  • Book Block Size: Super-miniature, approximately 53 × 53 mm.
  • Binding: Hardcover, dark green (letherette/calico) with high-quality deep gold embossing. The cover features the coat of arms of the GDR.
  • Content: Inside are panoramic color and black-and-white photographs of iconic locations in East Berlin from the 1970s (Alexanderplatz, the TV Tower, etc.).

Set: Full original set. The book comes with its rare matching original red cardboard slipcase featuring the silhouette of Berlin.
