Description (English)

Currency token (exchange bill) of the Russian Empire with a face value of 3 kopeks, issued during World War I (1915).

Denomination: 3 kopeks.

Issue Period: 1915–1917 (reign of Nicholas II).

Design Features:

    • The obverse features the lesser state emblem of the Russian Empire and the inscription: "Have circulation on par with copper coinage".
    • The reverse features a large digit "3" and a warning regarding prosecution for forgery.

Material: Thick paper. The design replicates the postage stamp issued for the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty, but without perforations and with text on the back instead of gum.
