Collectible Vintage Textile Wall Calendar 1980 "Riga". Soviet Latvia, "Rīgas audums" Factory. Original Wooden Rods. Mint Condition.
A rare example of Soviet interior textile and souvenir production from the late 1970s — a fabric wall calendar hanging for the year 1980, produced by the famous Riga textile mill "Rīgas audums".
The panel features a stylized retro panorama of Old Riga with its iconic church spires and rooster weather vanes. The graphic design is executed in the classic Mid-Century modern aesthetic, using rich terracotta-brown, white, and black tones. The calendar grid is printed in the Latvian language. At the bottom of the piece, the factory name "Rīgas audums" is woven in an authentic Gothic script.
What brings exceptional numismatic and collectible value to this particular item is its absolute completeness and deadstock (rolled) storage history.
The calendar has survived to this day in pristine condition, complete with its original factory wooden clamping rods/hangers at the top and bottom.
