Description (English)

Vintage Leather Case (Slider) for a Deck of Playing Cards. Embossed Suits. USSR (Baltics), 1970-1980s — Excellent Vintage Condition!

An elegant collectible slider-case designed specifically for storing and carrying a deck of playing cards. A high-quality vintage accessory that serves as a stylish element of table decor for a game room, an excellent themed gift, or a worthy addition to a collection of Soviet leather craft.

Item Characteristics & Details:

·        Purpose: Specialized hard case for a single deck of playing cards.

·        Construction: Two-piece sliding box (slider/sleeve principle) with rounded corners, reliably protecting the deck from deformation, dust, and moisture. The sliding mechanism works smoothly and precisely; the box fits snugly without loose play.

·        Material: Premium natural vegetable-tanned leather featuring a noble cognac hue. The leather is clean, free of rips, deep scratches, or stains, and the corners are not scuffed.

·        Quality of Craftsmanship: Exceptional factory-artisanal quality. The deep artistic embossing on the natural leather is flawlessly executed, showing crisp definition in the fine details of the ornament and card suits. The geometry of the case is ideal, the corners are even, and the seams are glued neatly and tightly.

·        Interior Lining: The inside of both parts is carefully lined with a dense brown protective fabric with diagonal ribbing (viscose/silk), which prevents the card backs and edges from fraying during removal.

·        Design: The front and back sides are decorated with deep, highly artistic embossing. A decorative border of card suits runs along the perimeter, while a symmetrical heraldic composition with stylized "spades" and "hearts" signs occupies the center. The side faces feature a textured, grainy "shagreen" finish.

·        Origin: USSR, Baltic States (in the characteristic style of famous art products factories such as Somdaris, Riga or Linda, Tallinn), 1970–1980s.

Dimensions:

·        Height: 9 cm

·        Width: 6 cm

·        Depth: 2.5 cm (Perfect fit for a standard Soviet or classic poker deck).

Condition:

·        Excellent Vintage Condition / Collection Quality. The item has been carefully stored at home, fully retaining its functional and aesthetic value.
