Description (English)

Plate is a beautiful example of French faience from the famous Lunéville ceramics center.

Manufacturer: Keller & Guérin (K&G).

Location: Lunéville, Lorraine, France.

Material: Faience — a type of ceramic covered with a transparent glaze.

Technique: Transferware. The design was applied using an engraved copper plate onto paper and then transferred to the item before firing.

Style: "Scène Champêtre" (rural or pastoral scene). The plate depicts a typical Alpine or Swiss landscape: a chalet, mountains in the background, and human figures.

Border: A lace or mesh ornament characteristic of Lunéville along the edge, complemented by floral garlands.

Color: Traditional "Blue and White," imitating expensive Chinese porcelain.

Diameter 20 cm.

The phrase "Tradition depuis 1731" refers to the date the manufactory was founded by Jacques Chambrette.

The font of the "Spécial Grand Feu" inscription and the phrase "Décor inaltérable" indicate the mid-20th century (approximately 1940s–1960s). During this period, the factory produced replicas of its 19th-century hits using more modern firing methods.

 Good condition.
