A historical philatelic commemorative folder (Gedenkblatt) issued in the GDR (East Germany) in September 1958 to mark the opening of the Buchenwald National Memorial.

Contents: Features the "Fighters Against Fascism" (1958) stamp series depicting E. Thälmann, R. Breitscheid, and others, along with the 1956/1958 semi-postal blocks showing the Buchenwald memorial bell tower.

Special Features: The stamps are mounted on artistically designed pages containing the history of the camp and the "Buchenwald Oath".

Postmarks: Includes special commemorative cancellations (Sonderstempel) from Weimar and Berlin dated September 1956 and 1958.

Age: 67 years old.
